Maxim Golosnoy announced that he and his lawyers are drafting criminal complaints to the State Bureau of Investigation against his unit’s chief of staff, alleging the officer maintains regular contact with relatives in Russia and suggesting potential leak risks.
According to Golosnoy, his legal team is assembling a formal position on multiple suspected offenses involving the officer, while several internal reviews remain underway.
We are working thoroughly with lawyers on a comprehensive legal position and reports to the SBI regarding a series of criminal offenses involving the chief of staff (a rear major). A whole series of comprehensive reviews is currently underway.
Golosnoy stated that the chief of staff actively communicates with relatives residing in Russia while stationed 140 kilometers from the forward line of own troops. He suggested that such communication could have exposed military sites to enemy strikes.
We learned about the relatives of the ‘chief of staff’ in the Russian Federation, with whom he maintained and maintains active communication while staying 140 km from the forward edge of the battle area.
Golosnoy raised the possibility that regular calls compromised locations that were struck shortly after the officer vacated them, noting that according to available information, a strike on one vacated site resulted in an officially confirmed death and multiple injuries. Pointing to Article 114-2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code concerning the unauthorized transmission of military data, he highlighted risks of Russian surveillance and leverage against personnel through relatives in Russia.
Previously, Golosnoy described changes within the separate battalion after the General Staff initiated a comprehensive inspection following his public complaints about the withholding of meal allowance certificates during a temporary duty assignment. At that time, he noted that the unit rushed to draft commander maps, prepare fuel logs, and involve the SBU military counterintelligence department in approving inventory teams.
