Thu.Jan. 2019Meetings in England: lords, bankers, financiers, members of the Royal Courtyard (2)
Tue.Jan. 2019Yesterday, the first interesting and extremely important meetings took place. Just at the airport I met a legendary person – Michael Semple. He is a Special Representative of the UK Foreign Office for the Pacific Settlement in Afghanistan, a Professor of the Harvard University, of the Carr Center for Human Rights (Harvard Kennedy School), of the Kennedy School of Government. Also, he is a Special Representative of the European Union and the US State Department.
Michael is an author of many books about Afghanistan, some of them have been filmed.

To be clear, for British, Sunday is considered to be a day off for spending time with families. Nevertheless, Michael met me at the airport and spent more than 4 hours discussing important issues, namely, the options for peaceful conflict resolution of in Crimea and the Donbas region.
Michael speaks fluently 7 languages. The Taliban recognize only Michael for the negotiations. No matter what country he finds himself in, he goes jogging more than 20 km every morning, even if he is staying in Afghanistan. He has good relationships with Kurt Volcker.
Michael is the most respected and renowned expert on Afghanistan issues in the West, an Advisor to the State Department and Security Services in the USA, Europe, England.
We discussed the further escalation of the conflict in the Eastern Ukraine and possible ways to stop it (according to Michael, the tension there is very probable to escalate).
The second important meeting took place yesterday: a dinner with the Head of the military company and British expert on the military matters – Terence Furaji. We discussed the situation in the war zone, the issues of the strengthening of the national security and de-occupation of the invaded territories.
Yesterday I spent a day meeting the most honorable people, who have resolved the military conflicts, by actions, not by words. One of them is Sir Lord Richard Needham.
Richard Francis Needham, 6th Earl of Kilmorey, (born 29 January 1942), usually known as Sir Richard Needham, is a British Conservative politician. A Member of Parliament from 1979 to 1997, he served as Under-Secretary of State for Northern Ireland between 1985 and 1992 and as Minister of State for Trade between 1992 and 1995.
Under the leadership of Margaret Thatcher, Sir Richard Needham resolved the military conflict in Northern Ireland (with the IRA) and stopped the conflict with FARC in Colombia, which had had lasted for 30 years.
He is an author of several books on the military conflicts resolution, one of which he presented me with unexpectedly!
Our meeting began in the House of Lords, and then we moved to his estate. In fact, an invitation to visit a lord is considered to be a sign of great interest and respect (frankly – IT`S TOTALLY FANTASTIC). The second part of our communication we spent on discussing his ideas of the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories.
